This is a very attractive basketry willow producing slender, fine rods with an almost striped appearance growing up-to around 2m/6ft annually. Despite its name it is much more red than green with a mottled green-brown butt and yellow to red rods at the tip. It is an attractive variety all year round, lovely colours in the winter and then again in the spring when red-yellow buds form and the new growth arrives with a red tinge.
